Your Roadmap to Canada: CELPIP

The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) is a general English language proficiency test. It allows candidates to demonstrate their ability to function in English and is used for semi-skilled and skilled migration to Canada.

What & Why?

Unlike other tests, CELPIP is 100% Canadian. It uses Canadian accents and situations that are relevant to life in Canada. It is officially designated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent resident status and citizenship.

Who Benefits?

  • Canadian Immigration Applicants: Those applying under the Express Entry or Provincial Nominee Programs.
  • PR and Citizenship Candidates: Individuals who need to prove their language ability to the Canadian government.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Ideal for adults applying for immigration with basic to intermediate English skills. The test is computer-based and administered in a single three-hour sitting.

Frequently Asked Question

Is CELPIP easier than IELTS for Canada PR?

Many candidates find CELPIP easier because of its North American accent and the fact that it's entirely computer-based (including the speaking part). However, it depends on your comfort level with computer-delivered tests.
